Soyu Matsuoka Roshi founded the Zen Buddhist Temple of Chicago in 1949. He eventually moved to Long Beach, California. He passed away in 1997.
Kongo Langlois Roshi
Kongo Roshi was named abbot of the Zen Buddhist Temple of Chicago when Matsuoka Roshi moved to Long Beach. He passed away in 1999.
